The Founders of 24 Hour Fitness
24 Hour Fitness Center is a type of centers that are open 24 hours a day. Today it is on the third place in number of clubs and on the first in number of members. It is one of the largest chains of fitness centers in the world that was founded by Mark Mastrov and Leonard Schlemm in 1983. Actually at first it was named 24 Hour Nautilus. And only in 1994 it was renamed into 24 Hour Fitness. Besides Mark Mastrov and Leonard Schlemm there was also one more partner. Though his name is not so famous and he didn’t work much on this project.
24 Hour Fitness Chain can be found now in 16 states. It counts about 400 clubs and over 3 million of members whose number increases every day. There are also clubs in several Asian cities. The owners of the chain don’t want to stop on this. They plan to have more than 1,000 new clubs in five years.
When Mastrov and Schlemm started the project of 24 Hour Nautilus/Fitness no one could imagine that it would grow in such a huge popular club chain and that it would work 7 days a week and 24 hours a day.
